First, a bit of news. I contributed to Brian Saia’s most recent album, Ancient Lakes. It’s a great record with a lot of captivating sounds. In addition, the record was mastered by Nick Zammuto, currently of Zammuto and formerly of The Books. Give Brian’s work a listen. You can download it from his bandcamp (linked to above) or pay a little extra for a beautifully made CD.
Tonight, come to the Wild Beast at CalArts for Art/Rock/Orchestra – an outdoor concert with Faust, the CalArts Chamber Orchestra, and Derde Verde. The concert starts at 7pm and there will be food trucks!
And on November 3, be sure to come out to Novum: Macabre. “Novum is an interdisciplinary lecture series for the curious and the creative. The series aims to present new and unusual ideas, bringing together explorations and investigations from the fields of art, writing, science, history, religion, and philosophy.” I’ll be performing Schubert’s Death and the Maiden as part of the Heliconius String Quartet. This will be an exciting event, complete with music, creepy readings, and spectral psychography on the Day of the Dead.
